"Put simply, we believe that by providing these basic amenities, we can improve the lifestyle of village existence, help villigers establish commercial farming and tourist attractions that can provide them with an ongoing income. With this, villages can slowly improve their houses, encourage better medical facilities and schools in these regions and we hope, encourage youth to move back to the villages, and establish generations to maintain the future of rural Nepal." |

Throughout my travels of this stunning world, I have been rewarded with so many amazing experiences, and met so many beautiful people. But I have also witnessed devastation, enduring hardships and a dire shortage of medical facilities. Although I’m playing a tiny part, making this small difference is my way of saying thank you, for a lifetime of memories.

Having grown up in the villages, I have a strong feeling and passion about making a difference. Improving lives can be as simple as ensuring a good supply of water, electricity and basic health and education. By initiating this project I hope we can go a long way to improving the lives of people, not just in Kavre District, but throughout Nepal.
Though I have lived in Kathmandu most of my life, the village life still runs in my blood and it’s a culture and way of life that I would like to see preserved in Nepal

I have been living in Nepal for the last three years and having seen so much of the country, I have decided to give something back to the local communities that have given me so much. A Simple Thing is just that, a single simple idea that we can carry on and turn into something beneficial to the lives of many people.
I hope that through the success of our project many people throughout Kavre District will benefit, life in the villages will become easier and people will start returning to these beautiful places instead of scraping out existences in Kathmandu. Not only that, but I hope that more visitors will come here and appreciate the simplicity and beauty of life.

I have always enjoyed exploring new countries and learning about different cultures and lifestyles. Therefore, after graduating as a physiotherapist from Leeds Met, I came to Nepal to volunteer. I was working with people who had injured their spinal cords whilst working on the farms. I found this work so rewarding and developed close friendships with my patients. This work gave me a greater picture of how "A Simple Thing" can truly help the people of Nepal. I have now been working and living in Nepal for 10 months and I plan to stay for much longer.
Nepal is an amazing country with so much to offer. However, there is still so much that Nepal lacks in basic amenities. I hope that this is where these projects can come and help the rural Nepali villages and with some hard work, we can make a change to these peoples’ lives for better.
